One of my colleagues tried to forcibly kiss me while being drunk at an office party. I tried to complain but was told that this incident does not come under the ambit of office policy since we were not at any work-related place. It was an all-team party, everyone was there.

Elimination of Violence Against Women

#OrangeTheWorld

UNITE TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN & GIRLS NOW!

Its 25th November – the day to commemorate the UN Day for Elimination of  Violence against Women and Girls. This day also marks the beginning of the observation of the 16 days of activism from 25th November to 10th December.

Let us all stand up and raise our collective voice against violence and harassment and take a pledge to never commit,  tolerate, accept or condone violence in any form.  Remember, every woman has a right to life free of violence.

As we come together to commemorate International Women’s Day, we reflect on the remarkable progress women have achieved globally across various fields. However, amidst celebration, it's crucial to acknowledge that the path to genuine gender equality and inclusion remains lengthy. Challenges such as gender discrimination, wage gaps, job segregation, stereotypes, and pervasive violence persist, not confined to any one region but experienced worldwide.

This year's theme, "Inspire Inclusion," serves as a poignant reminder of the work yet to be done. Inclusion transcends mere diversity; it demands an environment where every voice matters, every perspective is valued, and every individual is empowered to thrive, irrespective of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. True inclusion necessitates tangible action. It entails amplifying the voices of marginalized women, ensuring their presence at decision-making tables, and dismantling oppressive systems. Advocating for policies that foster equality and justice is imperative.

Let us recommit ourselves to the cause of inclusion. Let us stand in solidarity with women worldwide, still fighting for their rights and dignity. By leading by example and inspiring others, we can cultivate a society where every woman has the opportunity to flourish, and every day embodies the spirit of International Women’s Day. Let us persevere until this vision becomes our reality.

A song inspired by women and young leaders of the trade union movement in Asia and the Pacific region - their issues and demands, their aspirations and vision, and their collective action to fight for an equal future for all. #EqualityForYouAndMe

The song aims to empower and inspire women and young workers to take action and take the lead in the struggle for decent work, rights, and equality. It also seeks to raise awareness on our campaign for the ratification of the ILO Convention 190 and amplify our demands for a world of work free from violence and harassment. #RatifyC190
